Chemical Information

AgriBase provides information on the synthetic pathways of active ingredients giving commercial and alternative routes of manufacture, key intermediates and key technologies used in the manufacturing process.

EMR employs consultants, with over 80 years combined practical experience in industrial synthetic organic chemistry, to determine the most likely commercial synthetic route (other databases only provide the patented route).

AgriBase also has a Companies Database identifying manufacturers of active ingredients and contract manufacturers.

Commercial Information

Mixtures – the major mixtures for a given active ingredient are given demonstrating how segmented the market is. By clicking on any mixture active ingredient, a list of mixture products appears for that active ingredient.

Crops – shows the major crops the active ingredient is used on and it can be searched to show which active ingredients are used for a particular crop.

Markets – shows the major country markets an active ingredient is used in (not just registered) and can be searched by country to find which active ingredients are used in that country.

Registration Data – in this field data registration issues in, for example, EU countries are included.

Commercial Status – each active ingredient is given a status of either:

• Development
• Proprietary
• Off-Patent/Generic
• Minor commercial importance
• Discontinued

Notes – includes the historical background, news, issues, registrations and markets for active ingredients.

Patents – EP and US patent numbers (included where available).

BCPC Data – The British Crop Protection Council’s The Pesticide Manual© including physical chemistry, commercial history, trademarks and company names, applications, analysis, mammalian toxicology, ecotoxicology and environmental fate.
